CBK Revision Stem
![]() CBK Revision Stem |
The conical CBK Revision stem has been developed for cementless application. The prosthesis is stably fixed in the medullary canal beyond the original prosthetic bed. This allows the bypassed prosthetic bed to be converted to a state of relative mechanical rest in order to achieve a reliable primary stability so that an ossoeointegration can be achieved.
The CBK Revision stem is available in three lengths with different diameters, enabling the surgeon to select the most appropriate implant for each individual procedure depending upon the severity of the bone loss and width of the medullary canal. The prosthesis features eight longitudinal ribs, of equal height, which guarantees rotational stability of the implant after impaction. The cone angle is a standard 12/14 taper. The wedging principle is facilitated by the conical and straight stem geometry. This wedging effect is magnified should any subsidence occur, ensuring prosthetic stability.
The CBK stem is manufactured from titanium alloy (Ti6Al7Nb, TAN, ISO 5832-11), which has been specifically designed for the production of orthopaedic implants. This alloy is characterized by demonstrating excellent biocompatibility, together with a high resistance of corrosion and superior mechanical strength.
Indications
The CBK Revision stem may be suitable for use in the following indications:
![]() | Revision of a loose prostheses (primary or revision care), in which a proximal fixation in the metaphysis is no longer possible owing to pronounced damage to the bony implant bed, and in which anchoring of a new implant must occur exclusively in the diaphysis. |
![]() | Revisions in periprosthetic fractures |
![]() | Primary care in multi segmental fractures of the proximal femur, with simultaneous severe coxarthrosis |
