Philosophy
The build-up of an outstanding press-fit between the implant and the implant bed guarantees the primary fixation of the cups. The flattened pole of the cup allows an optimal positioning and increases the contact surface between the cup and the bone.
The seleXys® cups are available in the sizes 42 to 64 mm (in 2 mm increments), the seleXys® TPS is also available as revision version in the sizes 66 to 70 mm. The shells can be combined with the PE inlay, the PE inlay with shoulder, the inlay metamys® for the metal-metal articulation and the ceramic inlay Bionit®2 for the ceramic-ceramic articulation.
seleXys® TPS (Titanium Plasma Spray) and
TPS-R (Titanium Plasma Spray-Revision)
The pure titanium shell is coated with highly porous titanium plasma spray (Prothepor®). This surface promotes the osseointegration and ensures a good consolidation with the bone and a secure secondary stability. This shell surface is also available as revision cup with 8 screw holes.
seleXys® TH+ (Tetrahedron)
The macrostructure of the shell surface ensures a safe primary fixation and promotes the osseointegration of the cup.
seleXys® PC (Porous Coated)
Pure titanium balls with 40 % porosity are sintered in two layers onto the titanium shell in order to optimise osseointegration.
Cancellous bone screws, OD 5.7 mm
The pure titanium cancellous bone screws are available in lengths of 15 to 45 mm (in 5 mm increments).
Benefits of the press-fit family
Due to the modular structure of the cup system, the same PE, metal metal and ceramic inlays can be used for the different seleXys® shells, and the same instrumentation serves to implant them.
A simple and straightforward instrumentation allows a precise implantation of the cups.
The shells are equipped with screw holes, which are closed at delivery. It is possible to open the screw holes intraoperatively and to fix the cup with additional screws.
