The PE inlay is manufactured of polyethylene (UHMW-PE) using a special designed five-axis controlled CNC machine which allows to manufacture the bearing surface in a congruent fashion for optimum anterioposterior and mediolateral alignment. This design makes the polyethylene inlay perfectly congruent to the femoral component, providing outstanding stability while minimizing wear at the same time.
We paid particular attention to the tibial rotation by incorporating a rotation of 15° in the design. This ensures a free sequence of movements while guaranteeing highest stability.
The PE inlays are available in various thicknesses and sizes, the fixed bearing application as either ultra congruent (UC) or cruciate-retaining (CR).
