GSS System

The GSS hip prosthesis system includes an uncemented version (GSS-CO, GSS-CL) and a cemented version (GSS) of the stem. The design is the result of years of co-operation between experienced orthopaedic surgeons and our own engineering team.
Additional advantages
- Clinically proven stem system since 1993.*
- A single rasp system is used for both the uncemented and the cemented versions.
- The high rotational stability is achieved thanks to the rectangular cross-section in the proximal region of the hip stem. The uncemented stem also has proximal ribs that further increase its stability.
- Physiological proximal transmission of forces is achieved in the cemented stem by means of the collar. This also facilitates positioning of the stem in terms of height at the time of implantation.
With the uncemented stem (GSS-CO, GSS-CL), the proximal ribs and the rough surface (PROTHEPOR® titanium-plasma coating) also contribute towards primary stability, thus promoting bone on-growth for lasting anchorage.
