Complications occur in up to 30% of patients after surgery. Longer in-patient stays, increased bed occupancy and additional strain on hospital staff are just a few of the consequences. The «myOp» app developed by mHealth, in collaboration with University Hospital Southampton, is said to be able to reduce post-operative complication rates by up to 50%.

The app addresses three key areas of pre-habilitation: nutrition, exercise and anxiety. With «myOp», patients can better prepare for surgery with personalised fitness programmes, breathing exercises, personal health management tools, diet optimisation instructions and much more.

Clinicians can benefit from «myOp» by using screening tools to quickly assess risk stratification and identify patients at higher risk of complications. These patients can then be supported through targeted assistance and interaction.
