cyclOS granules and preforms are synthetic, osteoconductive, resorbable and biocompatible bone substitutes made of beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP, [Ca3(PO4)2]). The macro- and microporous and interconnected structure allow vascularization and bone ingrowth into the bone substitute. 1, 2
cyclOS bone substitutes are intended to be use for filling bony voids or gaps of the skeletal system (spine, trauma, craniomaxillofacial, orthopaedics, osteosynthesis). cyclOS bone substitutes are indicated for use as bone void filler in non-load-bearing areas regions requiring cancellous rather than cortical bone material.
cyclOS granules are versatilely used. cyclOS preforms can be shaped intraoperatively using a scalpel to fit the bone defect. cyclOS Putty is intraoperatively prepared by adding a liquid component such as physiological solution, autologous blood or bone marrow aspirate. The b-TCP granules in the Putty are thus embedded in the hyaluronic acid carrier. The cyclOS Putty is ready in 2 minutes and can be kneaded into the desired shape.
